On Friday 28th of April 2017, Northshore Christian Grammar School was officially opened by the Hon Christian Porter, Federal Minister for Social Services and Federal Member for Pearce, at a well-attended ceremony.
Delegates in attendance also included the Hon John Quigley, Attorney General and State Member for Butler, Mayor Tracey Roberts JP of the City of Wanneroo, along with members of the Swan Christian Education Association Board, architects and builders, staff, students and parents of the school, and other dignitaries.
“It was a privilege to attend the official opening of Northshore Christian Grammar School and declare it open,” Mr Porter said.
“The new facilities and learning spaces are fantastic and really take into account the latest in education research allowing students to learn more effectively.
“It has taken the whole school community working together to see Northshore Christian Grammar School open and it is evident how proud and passionate the staff, teachers, students and parents are about their brand new school.
“The school will also play an important role in the local Alkimos community, offering space for local playgroups as well as a place for residents and church groups to meet.”
Northshore Christian Grammar School Principal, Mr Stuart Chisholm, said that today was the culmination of years of planning to deliver fantastic outcomes for students in Perth’s northern beaches.
“As a Principal, welcoming our students in to these new facilities is an amazing experience”, said Mr Chisholm.
“Not only are we blessed with this outstanding design, we are delighted with the many families that have chosen to partner with us for educating their children, a privilege we take very seriously.
“We are very grateful for the government contributions to this stage of the campus, including the State Government’s Low Interest Loans Scheme and the Australian government’s Capital Grants Programme, along with our visionary architects, Broderick Architects, and to our talented builders, the De Francesch Building Company”, he said.
He also thanked families and the school’s foundation staff for their dedication.
“A thriving community is crucial to the success of a school, and our foundation families have already formed strong bonds and installed our playground, assisted with gardening and are helping in classrooms every day.
“Along with the outstanding efforts of our foundation staff, this has brought our community together and set our students up for success”, he said.After the official proceedings, Minister Porter joined the other special guests for tours of the innovative campus.
Swan Christian Education Association CEO, Mr Neil David, added that the Association is glad to be able to offer its unique brand of non-denominational Christian education in a fast-growing area.
“For Swan Christian Education Association it is exciting to be able to offer families in the northern beaches corridor a non-denominational Christian education. Today we’re really proud to have formally opened this contemporarily designed and highly functional campus that is Northshore Christian Grammar School”, he said.
“Our existing schools in the Swan Valley and Perth hills are well recognised for providing quality, Christ-centred education and we are thrilled to make this available to families in Alkimos and the surrounding suburbs.”
Northshore Christian Grammar School is offering education from Kindergarten to Year 6, growing year on year to extend to Year 12. Foundation scholarships valued at up to $2,000 are available to eligible families who enrol before Term Three, 2017 and the school is continuing to welcome enrolments on a daily basis.
A free parent-run playgroup also operates at the school site each week.
