Primary Swimming Lessons 2025

Making a Splash! 2025 Swimming Lessons Wrap-Up

Over two weeks in Term 4, our Pre-Primary to Year 6 students have been diving in, splashing out and building confidence in the water during their Swimming Lessons at Arena Joondalup. The pool was alive with energy as students challenged themselves, learned new skills and celebrated each success along the way.

Students were grouped according to their prior skills and confidence levels, ensuring everyone had the chance to grow at their own pace.

  • Stages 1–5 focused on the fundamentals: floating on their front and back, strong kicking and mastering their freestyle arms using the memorable “paint the rainbow” technique. They also learned important water safety skills, including the Aqua Code and basic survival strokes.
  • Stage 6 and above took their abilities even further, refining freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke while also practising sculling, treading water and essential rescue techniques.

It was amazing to watch students progress over the fortnight, from hesitant first kicks to confident strokes across the lane. Their enthusiasm was contagious, and the improvement was remarkable!

The program ended with a well-earned Splash Party, where students celebrated their hard work and growing confidence in the water.

Families are encouraged to keep the swimming certificates, as they’re helpful for future lesson placements.

We’re already looking forward to our next round of lessons in Term 2, 2026 at Arena Joondalup, especially with the 50m pool opening, giving our students even more room to make waves!
