Alumni Spotlight: Tali Neufeld

Tali Neufeld's Inspiring Journey Beyond Northshore

At Northshore, we love celebrating the journeys of our past students as they step into new seasons of life. One such student is Tali Neufeld, who graduated in 2024.

During her years at Northshore, Tali’s creativity and artistic talent left a lasting impression. Many at Northshore will remember the beautiful artworks she created, pieces that reflected both her skill and her heart. Since graduating, she has continued to use her gifts and faith in new and exciting ways. Most recently, she completed a six-month Discipleship Training School (DTS) with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) on the Gold Coast, followed by a life-changing missions trip to the Solomon Islands.

Thank you to Tali for sharing her story in her own words below:

“I recently had the privilege of completing a 6-month Discipleship Training School (DTS) with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) on the Gold Coast, Queensland. As part of the program, I had the incredible opportunity to go on a mission trip to the Solomon Islands, where I spent two months living on a remote, primitive island and travelling from village to village, sharing the gospel with the local people.

The DTS school is divided into three different mission teams. One group travelled to Vietnam and another to the main island of the Solomon Islands. My team travelled to the smaller Solomon Island of Malaita. We had to quickly adapt to a completely different lifestyle without Wi-Fi or any connection to home. Despite the challenges, we experienced amazing adventures, such as hiking, visiting waterfalls and performing gospel skits in open markets.

Throughout our outreach, we prayed for many people and witnessed powerful miracles: blind eyes opened, deaf ears restored, chronic pain healed and souls saved. One moment that deeply moved me was when an elderly woman, who had great difficulty walking, climbed to the top of the hill where we were staying, simply to receive prayer. After we prayed, she walked away skipping, holding her walking stick in her hand!

This time away deepened my relationship with God significantly. I grew in understanding His heart for the needy and our Christian calling to “go into all the world and preach the gospel” (Mark 16:15). Our ministry included street evangelism, open-air events, house-to-house visits, school programs and youth/church services.

This mission trip was truly life-changing, and I highly recommend DTS to any young adult seeking to grow in their relationship with God and experience the world through missions.

I’m now preparing to return to Queensland to begin a 3-month Discipleship Bible School (DBS) with YWAM, and I’m excited for my next adventure! – Tali Neufeld”

We are so proud of Tali and the way she is living out her faith beyond Northshore. Her story is a wonderful reminder of how God continues to use the lives of our graduates to make an impact in the world. We look forward to seeing all that God has in store for her in the years ahead.
