UniPrerp Program in partnership with Edith Cowen University (ECU)

At Northshore, we are thrilled to continue our partnership with Edith Cowan University (ECU) to bring the UniPrep Program to our students.

This program serves as a valuable complement to their senior school commitments by enhancing academic skill development, integrating university experiences, and providing accessible pathways to tertiary study. Moreover, it equips students with transferable career skills to pursue their passions at the university level.

The comprehensive program ensures a seamless integration into students’ academic journey. All units, teaching and learning content, digital learning technologies, and professional development are provided to high schools well in advance of the course commencement. Ongoing support is also offered throughout the teaching year to ensure our students’ success.

Miss Hanna and Mrs Wolfe have been diligently preparing for the implementation of the course in 2024. Recently, on November 8, Northshore Christian Grammar School, alongside 24 other schools, attended the Teacher Session at Edith Cowan University. During this session, we engaged in valuable networking with partner high schools, received updates on new units and assessment moderation, learned about student support services offered by ECU, gained insights into the student application process, explored kick-start modules, and were introduced to the Teacher Canvas website for 2024.

Our students had the incredible opportunity to participate in the UniPrep Schools On-Campus Experience at the Joondalup Campus of Edith Cowan University on November 23, 2023. This tailored day allowed our students to delve into discipline-specific workshops, tour ECU’s state-of-the-art facilities, and engage with ECU Student Ambassadors. They were also introduced to ECU’s extensive learning support services.

The on-campus experience provided valuable insights into university life and complemented the learning materials and outcomes of the four units our students are completing during their school studies. Our students actively participated in mock trials, dissection activities, and robotics, gained insights into university life from current students, and explored the facilities, including enjoying some great food at Café 6 and Bermuda.

We are excited about the UniPrep Program’s opportunities to our students, preparing them both academically and personally for the exciting journey that awaits them at the university level. As our partnership with Edith Cowan University continues to flourish, we look forward to witnessing the growth and success of our students in their pursuit of higher education
